Jerry Sandusky's image will be removed from a prominent mural near the Penn State campus, the mural's artist, Michael Pilato, says.

The mural, "Inspiration," is outside the student book store near the Penn State campus. It contains faces of notable figures in State College, Pa., history, including Sandusky, the former Penn State defensive coordinator who was arrested last week on charges that he sexually abused eight boys.

Milato got the idea after the mother of one of Sandusky's alleged victims emailed him and asked him to do it.

Penn State football Coach Joe Paterno also appears in the mural, Milato said he was going to paint a blue ribbon on Paterno's shirt.

The thought of painting a blue ribbon on Paterno's shirt seems wrong to me. In the future the blue ribbon will look like 1st place award, not a memory of the abused children.

CoH please

A what? Are they kidding? I saw snippets of this on the news on TV, but they didn't mention the painting of a blue ribbon. For now, they need to remove Sandusky's portrait, replace it with the portrait of an alumnus football player, maybe... but, geez... it is wayyyy off base to begin to lionize Paterno. I hope they come to their senses, and soon...

You really are the master of the understatement! This thing makes "nasty" look downright attractive!

I'll betcha Paterno was wishing for a little understatement when the board told him, "You're fired!" last night! Yaaaa-hoooooooo!

Hopefully, at least now the smell won't get worse. :-)

#3.4: Yeah, and now people are angry that he got fired.

    Oh, well...

It really is not an occasion to celebrate, but he deserved to be fired. Not a happy occasion; certainly nothing anyone should be gloating over, but yet a certain satisfaction that the board is now paying attention and that, maybe, the buck has finally stopped there.

Yeah, and now people are angry that he got fired.

Apparently they or one of their children weren'r raped or sodomized at 10 and nobody did anything to stop it or protect them from it happening again. They might feel differently.

Or if they gave a flying skwerl about anybody but themselves. I am so pissed right now. These students are pissing on every child on the planet.

Pardon my Portuguese, my dear ladies.

And now a quote from MSNBC:

Paterno's firing sent angry students into the streets, where they shouted support for the 84-year-old coach and tipped over a news van.

I guess the students were never little boys.

Or else they are sociopaths. Unable to empathize. That's a scary thought...

No apologies necessary, Grump. I couldn't have said it better.

What's worse, if there could be anything worse, that Sandusky was pimping out the boys to the big donors to the school, in exchange for donations.

So, what was he really doing? Just lining up the boys for his friends to get off on? That's just as bad, in my book.

Like I always told my grandsons, if you are not going to play nice with your toys, I am going to take them away from you. Mr Sandusky's toy should be taken away from him--with two bricks, if you know what I mean. The visual is satisfying.

Sounds like he was providing them for sex. The latest victim was 8 years old.

Anyone who was told about the sex acts of Jerry Sandusky with young boys needed to report this to authorities for further investigating. These recipients of this news were shoving it under the rug for every reason but the right reason.

Years ago, I was attacked in a doctor's office...I told two other doctors about this and they put their fingers in their ears as they did not want to hear what i was saying as they did not want to get involved. They indicated that this doctor brings a lot of money to a hospital and the hospital board will not believe me and I will be the one that looks bad. A year later, I had to see another doctor for a bad cold. I was scared and shaky. This doctor asked me if I had been attacked. I said yes. He asked if it was another doctor. I said yes. He left the room and brought in his receptionist. She had been attacked by a doctor too. Within 3 minutes in the conversation I found out it was the very same doctor that attacked me had attacked the receptionist, too. It was reported and not a thing was done. He is still practicing at the same hospital as far as I know. To many of these sexual acts are shoved under the rugs and higher ups do not want to know about them.

My heart goes out to you! I guess we live in a truly sick society in more ways than one. Someone once said that the love of money is the root of all evil.

So true. So very, very true!
