Donald Trump apparently didn't take kindly to Ron Paul's decision to skip the NewsMax-hosted forum moderated by the developer and reality TV star, saying it created a circus-like atmosphere around the presidential race.

"As I said in the past and will reiterate again, Ron Paul has a zero chance of winning either the nomination or the presidency," Trump said in a statement in response to Paul, adding, "my poll numbers were substantially higher than any of his poll numbers, at any time."

"Few people take Ron Paul seriously and many of his views and presentation make him a clown-like candidate," he said. "I am glad he and Jon Huntsman, who has inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning, will not be attending the debate and wasting the time of the viewers who are trying very hard to make a very important decision."

Trump as usual, viciously attacks anyone who doesn't play his game. Can you just imagine how "objective" he can be as a moderator?.....be deferential and flatter Donald, and he will give you great public reviews....you can guess that the only ones that he treats with kid gloves are the one who sucks up the best.

Yeah, you have to kiss his big arse at all times it seems if you don't want him to have a hissy fit. He went off on Jerry Seinfeld not too long ago as well, in much the same way. Its hilarious how petty and childish he gets when someone, as you said, doesn't play his game!

Trump, you're such a fruit. You're not fooling anyone. You're a joke; and the only people who take you seriously are the ones who are trying to make money with you however you're trying to make money. You're an embarrassment to the human condition. You're the only one who believes what you say.

Aww gee Mike don't hold back tell that ingrate how you really feel....LOL.. This field is so fractured and such an embarassment when they do pick a candidate they will be so fractrured it will be an uphill climb to get to zero chance of winning...so nice to see them squabble...

This will be the first Republican debate I watch. It is a joke not only because of Trump, who will probably argue with the candidates, but because Newsmax gets fewer stories accurate than the National Enquirer.

This is the perfect combination for the circus that is the Republican Party right now. Paul and Huntsman have already won this debate by not showing up.

Yeah, Wizeguy, maybe next time I'll really express how I feel when it comes to Trump - and the other GOP candidates as well. Embarrassment is right.

Tappy, a circus is exactly what it is. This is what the GOP has come to. I've said for a long time the GOP is panicking and doesn't know which side is up anymore, so they have no idea how atrocious they look. It sure is fun to watch though.

Noticed that none of the conservative supporters have come out in support of Trump being the moderator? My guess is that they are sick of this too, and went out for some Maalox.

I'm sure that the pub nominating process could get more bizzar, but for the life of me, I just don't know how. The Democrats couldn't have bought a more effective national campaign approach

Trump is so much so the idiot and joke that Paul described, that he couldn't realize the only way to disprove or respond was to keep his mouth shut and deliver a respectable moderator performance...what normal people would have considered "taking the high road." Trump has very little self-control.

GOP now split between hucksters (Trump, Palin, Cain, Newt, Romney) and nuts (Paul, Perry, Bachmann, Santorum).

Huntsman doesn't count as GOPher since he insists on retaining some dignity.

Trump blasts Paul for smacking him in forum-

Trump is a Chump, and Ron Paul could and would mop the floor with the DT douche if DT was still in the presidential race. DT bailed because he knows he never would have won, he has too many skeletons in hos closets, and he would have sold us out to the Chinese if they offered him lifetime bankruptcies.

Ron Paul is class, DT is NT trash that lives off the weak and the poor to support his lavish lifestyle. DT should never be allowed to file for bankruptcy ever again. He's already done it more than 13 times and allowed to keep his assets, and he's going to be doing it again and again as long as he's allowed to manipulate the system and allowed to keep all his assets.

DT should have been made to sell off hos properties to pay back the people he owed. That is how bankruptcies are suppose to work, but for the 1%, these laws don't apply to them.

DT is a crook and a thief, and he like all other politicians we have today only know how to live off the rest of us.

While I don 't agree that we should elect Ron Paul in 2012, I agree with everything else. Are you sure about the 13? I thought it was 3. I'm probably incorrect so it's probably too low, but that he's made others lose because of his own total lack of any ethical behavior makes me ill. All the while he bragging about his millions.

Then the people who invested in a property complex because they believed was a part of it, instead he had just "sold his name" to the company that was going to build the property development which then went under and all the people that bought into it, what was ultimately a scam, lost their money.

His online "business degree" program is a waste of money. He's a perfect 1%er.

And THAT's who the GOP apparently admires enough to moderate them.

I wonder how long it will take him to shill his new book.

Rescue Dogs, I read it wrong. "My bad" The number 13 was in bold and I got it backwards when reading up on his 5 bankruptcies he had filed over the past years. This is one reason he bailed from the presidential race I believe. He would have to put down all his bankruptcies and that would it sit well for the people to learn they have been bailing out this DT jerk over and over again. If he can't run a business, how the ell can he run a country.

http://extremeliberal.wordpress.com/2011/03/31/donald-trump-filed-for-bankruptcy-twice-spread-the-word/

Newt, DT, Batty Bachmann, and Hermy Squirmy Cain are all going to be hocking books to make up all the time loss and money they invested in their campaigns.

Bachmamn still thinks she has a chance becoming president and she's at the bottom of the totem pole with Stanktorium.

I'm sticking with Ron Paul.

If an individual—I was about to type the word 'man' but thought better of it—like Trump were ever elected to the office of the presidency, perish the thought, he would be so preoccupied with sniping at his critics and with attempting to bring about the ruination of his enemies that he would never get anything accomplished - with the exception, of course, of devoting what remained of his working hours to further enriching himself and the so-called 'upper crust' of our society and relegating everyone else, and America, to the toilet. He is utterly incapable of controlling his vindictive streak. Compared to Donald Trump, Richard Milhous Nixon would come off like a rank amateur.

I agree. I think this will help people see just how low and disconnected the 1% truly are with the American people or the economy. DT is nothing more than a lounge lizard mocking the working class people of America.

Ron Paul has way too much class to even want to be in the same room as the Donald Duck Trump fool is in. DT is only allowed to ask questions at the debate because he's in the 1% and paid for the seat at the debate.

Ron Paul wants to deal with real issues and the real American problems at hand. DT is all about entertainment and ratings, and I hope all people will boycott the DT shows and pout an end to the DT empire once and for all.

Best definition of Trump I've heard. I think if I were a candidate I would last about two seconds standing up there looking at Trump before I cracked up. This guy is ridiculous looking. I think I would be visualizing a nice red round clown nose like a giant cherry on Trump's face. I wonder how much he has to pay a woman to get up the courage to let him touch her... EWWWWWWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. I wonder how much he has to pay to get anyone to support him moderating a presidential debate? I feel so sorry for his newest wife. I have no doubt there was a prenup and if she divorces him she won't get much. That means she has to um... be with this man to stay wealthy. I don't think I could handle it myself. Why would you want to sell out your life for a jerk? Huntsman and Paul had the grit and respect enough for our country and the highest position in our country to turn Trump down. The others we already know would sell out their country and mother for fame, money and power.

And psssst... I hear that there is another attribute of Trump that comes up quite short of expectations.

Trump is a joke and will make a joke out of the debate. He'll probably lose track of what he's doing and keep yelling "You're fired!".

Of course, the bigger joke in this whole thing is the GOP letting Trump moderate this circus, umm, excuse me.... "debate".

The GOP is following a pretty direct route to self-destruction in the campaign. Next stop will be for them to "suspend" their campaign efforts and just concede the election to Obama.

about paul and huntsman not attending:

"has inconsequential poll numbers or a chance of winning, will not be attending the debate and wasting the time of the viewers who are trying very hard to make a very important decision."

and any of the other candidates do? bachmann has been wasting time and money for months now...shes been in Iowa for ever and STILL wont win that state....how insignificant is that!

Um Paul is in second place right now, behind Gingrich, but ahead of Romney. That's hardly inconsequential. People are finally starting to realize that he is not status quo religious right.

I agree with you.We will see how inconsequential other people on the ticket are? Money in this election gives voice but that is not how a democracy works so give equal time to the bottom ticket because the " top" people who are running are not the top because they lack solutions and found like wound up robots just because they have money.

What I think is absolutely hilarious is that Michele Bachmann said she might consider choosing "the Donald' , as her V.P.

Maybe he's interviewing for the job....ROTFL

Ron Paul wants to skip the debate because he too supports the Chinese takeover of the United States.

Trump is about the only TV personality, or politician, that realizes the United States needs to produce something to trade in a global economy. While many people do not like Trump's style of not beating around the bush, he is 100% correct in noting the Ron Paul has no chance of winning the nomination. Politicians are not used to dealing with anything direct as they would rather form a committee and debate it a few years.

The only explanation for both the donald and the extremist job-killing republicans in this story is the old political adage that "there is no such thing as bad publicity." Getting attention is the primary goal. A large portion of the electorate is unfortunately so dense that they don't do any level of profound analysis of anything, if one could even refer to what they do as "thinking." It's just this superficial level of identification, e.g., "Oh, look, there's Donald Trump."

Like they say, it doesn't matter what they report about you, just make sure they spell your name right.

I don't agree with Dr. Paul's positions, but he has more class than Trump will ever possess. Dr. Paul and Huntsman may not win the nomination, but they're not out there embarrassing themselves either. Anyone who thinks of Trump as a "kingmaker" is crazier than he is.

I think this maybe the most important debate for the electorate to view.

correct this is serious and the American citizenry need to see first hand that the republican party is failing miserably...

that the right of this country has become dysfunctional and decided they want batahitcrazy for their leaders with extremist views and will do or say anything ...even burn down the country to get their way... America needs to see every minute of it... of course they could just look at the nutbags in Iran, Syria or North Korea... but hell it's local so go for it....

This GOP Circus is really stupid. The IQs of these people are so low that they should not ever had graduated middle school.

Paul and Huntsman don't really have anything going for them anyway. It's better to hear the real candidates. I'm not a fan of any of them. I'm also not a fan of Obama. This election, I like many others will have to hold my nose and cringe when I go to vote for president. I was and I still am a supporter of Hillary Clinton. She could have done so much more and without all the snottyness and nose thumbing that has gotten both sides of the Isle not wanting to work with each other.

my poll numbers were substantially higher than any of his poll numbers, at any time."

which is why Trump dropped out. Makes perfect sense - not!

Maybe with the exception of Huntsman, none of these candidates have a snow-ball chance in hell of winning the general elections. There just too erratic, and some of the positions just are not going to be able to be made into law - that is, passed through congress and the senate.

Which leaves one wondering, if Cain decided to suspend his campaign, why not ask the rest of these candidates to suspend their campaign, and give this country A BREAK!

      GO GOP/TP! YES. GO AWAY!
