President Obama Is Not The Anti-Christ

As we learn about the man who shot bullets into the living quarters of the White House, an unnerving fact has emerged: The shooter believed that he was on apersonal mission from God and that President Obama is the anti-Christ.

The attack on the White House and the first family is the result of an almost casual use by President Obama's political enemies of iconic religious imagery. The shots are a violent echo of the 2008 election when the rumor of Obama being "The One" surfaced through an ad by the McCain campaign.

None of the presidential candidates on any side of the aisle are the anti-Christ (or any equivalent in another religion). It is up to all of us to confront any pastor, political operator or friend who seriously introduces such charged religious language into our political landscape. If we don't, the blood that may be spilled because some unhinged zealot shoots to kill will be on our hands as well.

Do not turn this into a Christian bashing seed...there are crazies, and some claim to be Christians but don't lump them all together. There are Christian Obama supporters, and evangelical Obama supporters.

Respect for others and their views please

The bible says the anti-christwill be a nice looking, great speaking, strong military leader " Commander In Chief. Will come in the name of peace " bowing to other world leaders " Receives the Nobel peace prize for what he was going to do.

It will be someone the entire world can get behind. Chinese, Japanese people learn English from Obama speeches. Muslims love him. They are asking Obama to make a peace deal / treaty. Obama is the first Jewish president.

Uhhhh, ndeepnnow,

Where exactly does that spell that out for you, because it certainly isn't biblical.

Oh Lord.

The Bible uses the phrase "nice -looking"?

The bible tells us how pretty the devil is.

Ezekiel 28

“You were the model of perfection,
full of wisdom and exquisite in beauty.
13 You were in Eden,
the garden of God.
Your clothing was adorned with every precious stone[b]—
red carnelian, pale-green peridot, white moonstone,
blue-green beryl, onyx, green jasper,
blue lapis lazuli, turquoise, and emerald—
all beautifully crafted for you
and set in the finest gold.
They were given to you
on the day you were created.
14 I ordained and anointed you
as the mighty angelic guardian.[c]
You had access to the holy mountain of God
and walked among the stones of fire.

15 “You were blameless in all you did
from the day you were created
until the day evil was found in you.
16 Your rich commerce led you to violence,
and you sinned.
So I banished you in disgrace
from the mountain of God.
I expelled you, O mighty guardian,
from your place among the stones of fire.
17 Your heart was filled with pride
because of all your beauty.
Your wisdom was corrupted
by your love of splendor.
So I threw you to the ground
and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.
18 You defiled your sanctuaries
with your many sins and your dishonest trade.
So I brought fire out from within you,
and it consumed you.
I reduced you to ashes on the ground
in the sight of all who were watching.
19 All who knew you are appalled at your fate.
You have come to a terrible end,
and you will exist no more.”

      ndeepnow,

The bulk of that refers to satan being in heaven, being thrown up, and tempting Eve. If you know your Bible, satan will not even come on the scene until the Church is taken up.

He does not come from U.S.( oh yes, you must be a birther also), and Obama is certainly not the first Jewish president. He is a Christian, has stated so. Go pick and choose somewhere else.

First off Obama believes it is many ways to heaven. That's not a Christian. Second you are correct about The Anti-christ not being reveled until after the rapture. But even then people " Most " are not going to be saying it's the anti-christ.

He can / could be on the scene right now. He just want take over the world until then.

Also Obama I believe is the first President to host a UN meeting. He may slide right over into it.

I'm so glad you seeded this, rescue!

This kind of thinking about President Obama is the most disturbing, IMO.

It needs to be stopped but sadly it won't.

        Thank you, Darrah,

        It's pathetic, and dangerous.

I see in so many anti Obama posts by people who aren't even religious, "he thinks he's the new Messiah". For nut jobs, this just plays into their paranoia, and those on the extreme right it just fuels their hatred even though they don't actually believe it.

It's another example of a mentally ill individual using religion as a means to justify his actions. No offense rescue, but the fact that people can call Obama the anti-Christ and be taken seriously by some, shows a sort of religious sickness that has invaded Christianity.

        Grisham,

I agree with you in part, as you've heard me say many times, that "sickness" that you speak of hasn't invaded all Christianity nor all Christians, even those on the right. However I will admit some of those that sound rather loony to me tend to be off the "right edge" so to speak. It's just that you don't read about the "non-loons" because they don't make good press.

Elrushbo made a video of the president proclaiming him to be "The Magic Negro."

Our local radio talk "lower eschelon dittoheads" constantly refer to the president as "The Annoited Water Walker."

In truth, Lucifer is making his home in the wealth of the mega-church. He is the Deceiver. And the vast swaths of "new christians" are more than willing to do his bidding.

The problem is, I could gather a few dog haters together, we could call ourselves "the righteousness of god Baptists" and go on a killing spree claiming we were killing dogs because pet owners put their dogs ahead of God. The headlines would read "Christians slaughter dogs" Fire would be added to the flames. But bottom line, my group had nothing to do with Christianity, we were just killing dogs because we enjoyed it....might have even been formed by those who hate Christianity to give it more negative press. In reality we're just a bunch of crazy dog haters.

That's the danger. Take religion out of the mix, and your forced to be honest and admit you're just a dog hater. Your motives are clear.

You'll also have a much harder time of convincing someone who is mentally unbalanced to follow your dog killer lead because a supreme being has decreed it.

True, but religion allows for the dishonesty and the muddying of the waters. Who can tell if that person truly believes that God sent them on a mission to kill dogs or whether they just hate dogs? Remove religion and suddenly it becomes clear.

How about "Democrats of Lake Michigan Against Dogs" The Republicans would love those headlines.

Ha ha! Liberalism, conservatism and every other ideology are dangerous in the extremes. They can all be practiced as a sort of religion. Authoritarianism takes many guises and is the enemy of the free person.

“Which is [being] against the totalitarian — on the left and on the right. The totalitarian, to me, is the enemy — the one that’s absolute, the one that wants control over the inside of your head, not just your actions and your taxes. And the origins of that are theocratic, obviously. The beginning of that is the idea that there is a supreme leader, or infallible pope, or a chief rabbi, or whatever, who can ventriloquise the divine and tell us what to do.”

        Romans 10:9-10
If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

At his Easter prayer breakfast, President Obama said

,But then comes Holy Week. The triumph of Palm Sunday. The humility of Jesus washing the disciples' feet. His slow march up that hill, and the pain and the scorn and the shame of the cross."And we're reminded that in that moment, he took on the sins of the world — past, present and future — and he extended to us that unfathomable gift of grace and salvation through his death and resurrection."In the words of the book Isaiah: 'But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.'"This magnificent grace, this expansive grace, this 'Amazing Grace' calls me to reflect. And it calls me to pray. It calls me to ask God for forgiveness for the times that I've not shown grace to others, those times that I've fallen short. It calls me to praise God for the gift his Son and our Savior.

He closed his remarks by citing a third category of prayer, but the one that he said was most important: "That I might walk closer with God and make that my first and most important task."
"When I wake in the morning, I wait on the Lord, I ask him to give me the strength to do right by our country and our people," Obama said. "And when I go to bed at night, I wait on the Lord and I ask him to forgive me my sins and to look after my family and to make me an instrument of the Lord.

        I would suggest that

ye judge not, less ye be judged"

So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place,

        He's ROOTED in Christian traditions.

He goes on to say --

        FALSANI:
Have you always been a Christian?

        OBAMA:
I was raised more by my mother and my mother was Christian

        HIS MOTHER WAS A CHRISTIAN
