Time is not Newt Gingrich's friend because the more time he has the more he talks. And the more he talks the more he says things, as he just here this morning, he said that I would love to be civil, but I'm running against a maniacal liar. Now, that's pretty strong language. I don't know if you have ever told Longfellow's nursery rhyme to your 4-year-old daughter Alice yet. 'There's a little girl, had a little curl right in the middle of the forehead. When she was good, she was very good indeed. And when she was bad, she was very horrid.' And we're at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich

Correction.....Five.
There is that one guy who....you know.....who killed Osama.
I can't think of his name though.....

Only people who have limited intelligence have a hard time with Newt's idea of a moon colony...either that or they have some other (evil) agenda.

Because DOD hasn't published it, for security reasons. Facts are stubborn things.

I hope everybody remembers that when (eye of) Newt concedes the nomination to romney and they both stand there shaking hands and smiling for the camera like old pals. 'We didn't mean it'

Mike,
Only people who have limited intelligence have a hard time with Newt's idea of a moon colony...either that or they have some other (evil) agenda.
With the current state of the economy and the deficit sitting were it is, were do you think the money for Newt's moon base Alpha will come from? And on top of this the Newt wants to put mirrors on the moon to shine ambient light on the earth to light up America at night to prevent crime. The word Lunatic was invented for guys like the Newt!
- 18 votes
Newt is exactly like the base of the Republican party in fact he is the Father of the Nastiness that permeates this party. While you can elect the establishment candidate over Newt he will still be the daddy of all the nastiness you can escape it .

GM,
If you had listened to his proposal, you would have heard him quite clearly say, privately funded. Newt's a smart dude. Most folks just cannot keep up with him and when they cannot, they accuse him of being arrogant. That's the usual term bandied about by less intelligent folks towards the smarter ones.
His mirror idea is no less looney than the idea of electric cars who are less efficient than direct fossil fuel (gasoline) and require the services of coal fired generating plants to charge them. Remember, electricity is not a powers source, it is a means to convey already generated power. But you knew that already.
Regards,
Mike

Newt is very good at getting Democratic presidents re-elected.
Maybe after Obama wins a second term he will reward Newt by letting him ride in the back of Air Force One.
- 16 votes
Or maybe he'll let him take the first ride back to the moon.

he should ask the kids from south park, they will get him to the moon.

I served with a smart dude. I knew the smart dude. The smart dude was a friend of mine. Newt is no smart dude.

And by folks, you mean the wives he left behind.
His mirror idea is no less looney than the idea of electric cars
Now that comment I agree with, since you seem to be saying that the mirror idea is very, very looney. Perhaps you meant, no MORE looney than...
Still, I must disagree. @!$%#ing with the night-day cycle is @!$%#ing with mother nature, and when you @!$%# with mother nature, she @!$%#s back. Just ask any sleep doctor about the effects of light on the sleep cycle.

Dream away mike. It ain't going to happen. Only a moron of a businessman would invest in such a project, unless he thought he was doing it for his grandchildren. In fact, even on THIS planet, original investors in such ventures as half the american colonies, and the East INdia Company, and even the Hudson's Bay Company, didn't see ANY profit, or maybe some profit on their death beds.
Even the transcontinental railroads in North America, INCLUDING Canada's, would have NEVER been built without MASSIVE government outlays of cash or landgrants to be converted to cash. Only ONE of thet North American transcontinental rail roads was ever built with ONLY private money, and it was the LAST one, the Great Northern. If we had left this up to private investors, we'd still be sailing around the Horn or going crosscountry by covered wagon (no Panama Canal, failed private project; and no interestate highways, LARGEST public works project in history, greater than the Great Wall).

Ahhhh, the essence of Newt. Bull crap flowing like rivers up his throat, and into the air to be pounced upon by the bull crap lovers whose sense of smell and common sense have deserted them long ago.
They prize the very fiber of the Newtishment it involves, for it is of his essence of greed, pride, self promotion, stupidity-served up as intelligence- and bombast. The essential substance of the Newtster.
Newt wouldn't be fit to preside over a stable of whores, he'd use and abuse them and then abandon them for worse ones. :~(( ;~(( Because Newt is Newt.

To say that we're at the horrid stage with Newt would imply that some other stage actually exists. I don't think it does. I think "horrid" is all we're ever going to get from this freak. If the past is the best predictor of the future, which it frequently is, then it won't get any better since when has Newt been anything but horrid??
Moon colony? Really?? And what, exactly, would be the point of that? Private funding, Mike? Don't make me laugh. To build and sustain something like this would cost trillions of dollars, and it would serve exactly what purpose for all that money? This is just idiotic grandstanding by an arrogant moron. (Yes, Mike, he IS arrogant. Please don't try to insult those of us who are capable of seeing through his ridiculous ideas by acting like we're somehow not as smart as he is. I'd put my cat's intelligence up against his any day.)

'I'm running against a maniacal liar.' Seems like an accurate statement.

Echoing austinrick @ 1.6:
... I would love to be civil, but I'm running against a maniacal liar. Now, that's pretty strong language.
Going forward, this is the statement to remember so says George Will! (and who knows the GOP better than George Will?)
Moon Colony, ... American Exceptionalism indeed!
More like American Egocentrism ...

@ Mike #1.9,
Sorry to bust that bubble but electricity is a power source... a transmission line would be the means to convey said power...
Also electric cars can be recharged by nuclear power stations, wind or solar generators as well...

I really don't think George likes any of the candidates in the GOP, he has not given any kind of indorsement to any of them and it doesn't seem like he is going to.
- 12 votes
George Will is a shill for the GOP. Their not so partial voice in the media. The fact is he will not and cannot endorse any of the losers the R party is offering up for a nominee, and is just to damn stubborn to admit Obama will trounce anyone the R.s nominate.
- 13 votes
George Will seems to get more cantankerous with age. He has moved decidedly to the right of where he has been in the past. I used to be able to tolerate him. Not now.
As far as Gingrich goes - this guy is his own worst enemy. He gets continually more megalomaniacal and dabbles with delusions of grandeur.

He's just been compared to a little girl.
Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Let's face it, when we live in a country where Obama can win, we have a dearth of good candidates for the office.

Dick Cheney.
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha couldn't type that with a straight finger tip.

Actually, I've been at the "horrid" stage with the Grinch-rich since before they booted his @$$ from the speaker's chair for being a slimy crook---what?---twenty years ago.
That the GOP could ever seriously consider this guy a viable presidential candidate speaks volumes---amongst other things, that Obama Derangement Syndrome makes memories reeeeal short.
- 11 votes
If the dims could consider Obama over Hillary then the GOP could consider Newt.
@Bill K. NY,
Then I guess it's a matter of degree. Obama has not demonstrated nearly the level of compromised ethics than Newt has, despite what the ODS/birther crowd would have people believe...
- 3 votes
Will knows deep down that Gingrich cannot and will not ever be Pres. He flies off the handle to fast. I believe that he and another world leader will get into a fist fight during a one to one meeting because Newt will say thing very demeaning and harsh.
Also just crazy ideals and most likely will be impeached

And we're at the horrid stage with Newt Gingrich
And this differs from the last sixteen years of Newt how?
- 5 votes
And does George Will realize that whoever is nominated to be the Republican presidential candidate in 2012 will be owned by the Koch brothers?
- 3 votes
Realistically, Gingrich is more like Humpty Dumpty and all the Kochsuckers and all the Kochsuckers dodo @!$%# crazy TParty cannot put him together again.
But they'll try and they'll try and they'll try but they just caint git any satisfaction outta him.

Why on earth would any one in their right mind want to live on that desolate rock we call the moon. Mirrors to reduce crime HAA HAA. Newt is mentaly unstable, time to have him and his ilk committed to the looney bin.
- 4 votes
Horrid, yes horrid, horrid, horrid! I can't possibly imagine this man as president! Think of all the idiotic and borderline wacko stuff he says. Can't you see him interacting with foreign heads of state saying the stupid stuff he's so famous for? Maybe he'll dazzle them with the moon story! Maybe he'll show them how he's made janitors out of poor kids etc. Oh yes, he would be a fine representative for Americans. He could be the reason many would renounce their citizenship and start looking for a better place to live. If Newt ever got voted in for President, America would never be the same and we'd all like to start our own colony anywhere... even on the moon...... minus Newt!
- 5 votes
I never doubt the possibilities that the American public come up with. And since Bush Jr. was in office twice, anything is possible. But I have hope that the people of this country will not be stupid enough to vote Newt into office. He is a hot head and at some point he will lose his temper. And that is not a good thing in a president, especially when so many of his ideas are off the wall. I don't think he is very well balanced mentally.
But, I could be wrong. He might get elected. And then all hell will break loose.
- 5 votes
at some point he will lose his temper
At least we have seen Newt's temper. I have the impression that Mittens has a very short fuse, which we have just had a glimpse. Anytime anyone disagrees with him or questions him, he just simmers. Would love to see him at a presidential news conference.
- 3 votes
Actually we would be doing Ol' Newt a huge favor by not electing him. If elected and he has Palin as his VP, he would suddenly die the day after inauguration. Moral of this sentence: If you have a snaky fellow sociopath for a VP, don't be surprised if she nukes you to take your place.

I don't know....with Sarah as the VP and Callista as the wife, I don't know who would get nuked first, 8^)
