A Dubai father killed his eight-year-old daughter after torturing the girl and her sister with hot irons and stun guns, a court heard today.

Hamad Saod Al Sherawi, 29, is accused of abusing sisters Wadiyma, eight, and Meyra, seven, at their home in International City, Dubai.

Wadiyma later died, while her sister was left disabled following the alleged abuse by Al Sherawi and his pregnant mistress, Al Anood Mohammad Al Ameri.

The couple are accused of using stun guns to torture the youngsters, as well as burning them with boiling water and hot irons.

Prosecutors also told Dubai's Criminal Court that the pair locked the girls in the bathroom and closet for hours without food or water.
