A mother in Iowa was left outraged after she says her nine-year-old son's music teacher instructed his schoolmates to spit on him in class last week.
Alexandria Kindopp said the teacher at Shenandoah Elementary School called her last Monday to tell her about the incident involving her son, Jaxon.
The boy, who attends fourth grade at the school, came home upset that day and confirmed the story.
Jaxon Kindopp told KETV that he had been sticking out his tongue and blowing 'raspberries' at a classmate when his music teacher confronted him.
'My music teacher asked me how I would like it if someone did that to me,' Jaxon recalled. 'Everyone gathered around me and she said, "Ladies and gentlemen, spit away."'
The fourth grader recounted how nearly all of his classmates surrounded him and began spitting on his face and shoulders as he sat at his desk.
Jaxon said he was afraid that the sputum will get into his mouth, so he shielded his head, according to KCRG. In response, he said the teacher asked him, ‘Why are you covering your head? I thought you liked being spit [sic] on?’
According to a post on Alexandria Kindopp’s Facebook page, the music teacher had admitted that making students spit on her son was an error in judgment, but did not apologize.
