A father who hogtied his 11-year-old daughter to her bed and duct taped her mouth shut has been charged with aggravated child abuse after she died from oxygen deprivation.

Authorities may charge Kenneth Stoddard, from Sarasota, Florida, with more than just abuse after the December 17 death of Melissa.

A medical examiner ruled she had severe brain damage from not being able to breathe. She also had ligature marks on her upper arms, wrists, ankles and thigh area.
